'Word Jumble' is an exciting anagram game (with hints), which works like a simple arcade game! The object is to score as many points as possible. To avoid random guessing, the player is only allowed 3 guesses per word, irrespective of the time used. When 30% of the time has elapsed a hint is given, and when 60% has elapsed an extra letter is added (if required). This is harder than 'Find the Word' and so children might find themselves playing this game at a lower level of difficulty.

Word Lists
Four word lists are provided: easy, medium and hard (in the unregistered version, only the first 50 words in each list are available) plus an example file for my daughter, which illustrates how you can make your own lists. Select one of these and then, from the menu, choose words/display words to view the list of words and accompanied hints. To add to or delete from these lists select 'Words' from the menu. You can create new lists under the name of your children by selecting 'Word Lists' from the menu.
"
Upper/Lower Case
You have the option of playing both these games with either upper or lower case letters.
"
Input Words
Once you have entered a name you can enter your own words/hints for that person by selecting words/input words from the menu bar.
"
Add/delete Words
You can add or delete a word from any of the word lists by selecting words/add a word or delete a word from the menu.
"
Amend an entry
Select this option from the words menu to change a word and/or hint. You will be presented with the word list; select the word that you wish to change and click OK - you will thwn be invited to type in your changes.
"
Lives Left
While playing the game, the number of lives left appears in the top right hand corner of the screen.
"
Speed
The more words you get right, the faster the speed, until eventuallly you run out of time. When this happens, a life is lost and the timer is reset to the slow speed.
"
Show First Letter
If you click on the 'Show First Letter of the Word' option, the game becomes much easier, as the first letter is always displayed. Once your child becomes familiar with a word list, this option can be left off.
"
Aim of the Game
Each time you get a word right, you score points - one for each letter in the word (less one, if the first letter was shown). Your aim is to score as many points as possible and get a 'high score'.
"
High Score
If you get one of the top 6 scores, you will be invited to enter your name in the High Score list. This list can only be viewed BEFORE starting a game. The High Score list can also be cleared (emptied) from the High Scores menu - this option can be password protected (with registration).
"
Options
There are two options: 'Sound off' - which is self explanatory and 'Password Protection' (only available with registration) - this option is particularly useful in a school - it enables you to password protect lists of names and spellings - but remember to exit the program after amending lists to restore protection.
